Cancer Research Malaysia offers the SEQUENOM MassArray Genotyping service on rental (per day basis) to all the researchers who would like to perform high throughput genotyping. The machine rental charges according to the cumulative days of usage (as shown below).
a. Introductory Session (2h session):
Cancer Research Malaysia staff will help to provide some background as to sample numbers, format and QC and information about SNPs/ mutations that can be analysed. Participants will also be taught about basic Assay Design and after the training session, participants are encouraged to register on the Sequenom website (free) for a user ID and to design their own plex.
These training sessions to take place once every 2-3 months and can probably accommodate 10 – 15 people per session.
After attending the introductory session, researchers have the option to decide which level of service they require. They can either opt for the basic service (ie the researchers will design their own plex, prepare their own DNA samples and oligos and Cancer Research Malaysia staff will run the analysis and provide data in an excel spreadsheet); or they can ask for the additional service (i.e.: Cancer Research Malaysia staff will assist with assay design, the researchers are still responsible for their own DNA samples and oligos; Cancer Research Malaysia staff will run the analysis and provide data in an excel spreadsheet).
As Cancer Research Malaysia is a non-profit organization focused on cancer research, it is likely that the additional service will only be available to researchers working in cancer research on a collaborative basis.
