A shared commitment to making a difference in the fight against cancer brought together the Four Seasons community and Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY) once again, as Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Four Seasons Resort Langkawi presented a RM102,000 donation raised through their 2026 Terry Fox Fun Runs.

The symbolic cheque presentation, held at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, marked a meaningful milestone in the longstanding partnership between Four Seasons and CRMY. The contribution represents the highest amount ever raised collectively by the two Four Seasons properties for cancer research and reflects the generosity of colleagues, guests, families, community members and corporate supporters who came together behind a common cause.

The journey began in May, when Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur welcomed more than 2,000 participants to its Terry Fox Fun Run, the largest edition since the hotel first hosted the event four years ago. The momentum continued in June, when Four Seasons Resort Langkawi held its third Terry Fox Fun Run, drawing a record turnout of more than 350 participants from across the island community and beyond.

Together, the two runs transformed the spirit of participation into tangible support for cancer research. Every step taken and every contribution made helped carry forward Terry Fox’s vision of a future free from cancer.

At the cheque presentation ceremony, representatives from both Four Seasons properties gathered to present the symbolic RM102,000 cheque to Andy Khoo, Chief Executive Officer of CRMY. The donation will support CRMY’s work in cancer research, prevention and treatment, helping to advance efforts towards better outcomes for cancer patients and communities across Malaysia.

For CRMY, the occasion was more than a cheque presentation. It was a celebration of a partnership built on a shared belief that meaningful change happens when communities come together.

“We are deeply grateful to Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Four Seasons Resort Langkawi for their continued commitment to supporting cancer research in Malaysia. The RM102,000 raised this year is a wonderful reflection of what can be achieved when people unite behind a cause that matters,” said Andy Khoo, Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Research Malaysia.

The remarkable response to this year’s Terry Fox Fun Runs also demonstrates the strength of the Four Seasons community. In Kuala Lumpur, the event received tremendous support from colleagues, members of the local community, sponsors and organisations, while Langkawi saw an equally encouraging response from its island community and beyond.

Simon Barnett, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, shared that the strength of the Terry Fox Run lies in its ability to bring people together, expressing gratitude for seeing the community’s support translated into meaningful help for cancer research in Malaysia. Tobias Emmer, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, likewise highlighted the privilege of being part of a movement that has inspired generations, with every contribution becoming part of something greater.

Four Seasons’ support carries particular meaning because the Terry Fox Run is rooted in a legacy of courage, determination and hope. Inspired by Terry Fox’s extraordinary Marathon of Hope in 1980, the movement has grown into a global effort that continues to bring communities together to raise funds for cancer research. Four Seasons Founder Isadore Sharp helped organise the first Terry Fox Run in 1981, and more than four decades later, the legacy continues through thousands of runs held around the world.

As CRMY continues its mission to advance cancer research and improve cancer outcomes for Malaysians, partnerships such as this remind us that the fight against cancer is not carried by researchers and healthcare professionals alone. It is strengthened by individuals, organisations and communities willing to stand together and make a difference.

CRMY extends its heartfelt appreciation to Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, their dedicated teams, sponsors, partners, participants and everyone who contributed to this year’s Terry Fox Fun Runs. Thank you for continuing to run with us, believe in the power of research and help keep Terry Fox’s vision alive.

Together, we can turn every step into hope and every act of generosity into progress towards a future free from cancer.
